Carers Awards

14 May 2019

Our friends at Carers Trust Heart of England provide support to Adult Carers across Coventry and Warwickshire and Young Carers in Coventry. We are pleased to let everyone know they have launched their very first Carers Awards!

"The work of dedicated family carers often goes unnoticed and the Awards are a chance to recognise the special carers in Coventry and Warwickshire. Many people choose not to describe themselves as a carer – it’s just something they do for someone they care about. This is an opportunity to do something for them."

There are three carer categories:

  • Young Carer of the Year (under 18 years)
  • Carer of the Year (18 years+)
  • New Carer of the Year (someone who has been a carer for 12 months or less)

If you know someone who lives in Coventry or Warwickshire and is a special unpaid carer, take a few minutes out of your day and nominate using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/carersawards19. Nominations close at midnight on the 31st May 2019.

They will also be recognising the fantastic work taking place across health, social care and education supporting carers at the Award ceremony. These categories are:

  • Care Support Worker of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Caring GP Practice of the Year
  • Caring School of the Year
  • Triangle of Care Award

The Carers Trust Carers Awards 2019 are taking place on the event of the 12th July 2019 at Coombe Abbey.

Coventry-based, Holly Matthews will be the host of the Awards and she released a video this week encouraging nominations for Carers:
