Rainy-day adventures at Twycross Zoo

Our young carers enjoyed a fantastic trip to Twycross Zoo, thanks to the generous support of our brilliant friends at The Rotary Club of Rugby and the wonderful KidsOut initiative.

The rain certainly did not dampen anyone’s spirits! Wrapped up and ready to explore, the group made their way around the zoo and managed to see lots of amazing animals and reptiles throughout the day.

There was plenty of excitement, laughter and enthusiasm as the young carers explored together, enjoyed new experiences and made some lovely memories, whatever the weather decided to do!

Trips like this give young carers valuable time away from their caring responsibilities, allowing them to relax, have fun and spend time with other young people who understand their experiences.

A huge thank you to The Rotary Club of Rugby for making the day possible, to the schools that recognised the importance of this respite for young carers, and to our wonderful volunteers for their amazing support.
